All about Miss Fleur

Growing up I always had my nose in a book. It was my way of escaping the happy, but monotonous sleepy Melbourne suburb of my childhood. While my friends were already planning their dream wedding days, I was planning adventure. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it, but I hungered for something more than a middleclass-university-husband-children trajectory. At age 12 I wanted to be a dominatrix, although I had no idea at the time what that meant. To this day I’m not sure where I even heard the term.

As a teenager I happened upon a copy of the infamous Story of O at a library, and soon after, the classic Venus in Furs.
